Track and Field: Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays 2017

This year the annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays track and field competition was held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.  This event has been held at Mike Myers Stadium since 1999 when it opened. Over 5000 Track and Field Athletes from all over the United States came to compete.

During this year’s Texas Relays, new stadium records were set, world records were set but most importantly OK3Sports were able to catch some of that great action all on camera.

This Track and Field meet has always been a big event, these relay races started in 1925 by Coach Clyde Littlefield.  It was only not held for four years during the great depression 1928-1932, but other than that every year this event gas has taken place. I have read this is one of the biggest Track and Field events in the world, behind the Penn Relays.

The races are held over a course of four days, they consist of almost every track and field event. They have the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x200m relays, 4x400m relay, high jump, shotput and much more.

The kids you usually see competing at the Texas Relays are the kids that will usually compete against one another during the UIL State Track meet. Sometimes depending on the high school division, they fall in they get to compete against athletes they normally wouldn’t be able to compete against.

OK3Sports always have the camera in hand in ready to go, to catch tomorrow’s stars Today. We understand a lot of hard work and effort goes into all the training each athlete has to put in, just to run for 23 seconds in then it’s over just that quick. Then you have to start all of that training all over again. This is not all of the photos that I took while I was at the Texas Relays but just a few to share with you.
